Emily has supported over 300 families in finding the right fit for their young children. Emily's experience, skill, and confidence allow her to support parents in identify the schools in which their children will thrive and in minimizing the stress of the application process.
As a nursery school director in Manhattan for 15 years, Emily was responsible for the admissions process for incoming students, and for the "exmissions" process --assisting graduating students and their families with their next placements. Emily has been involved in admissions and parenting from every possible angle -- as a parent, a teacher, and a school director -- and understands the dynamics of each role.
Emily is also available to work with parents on issues including sibling interactions, school adjustment, separation challenges, fears, feeding, toilet training, sleep, shyness, agressive behavior, limit setting, etc.
Emily holds an MS in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education, and a New York State teacher's license for nursery-6th grade. She is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Clinical Services Provider for ADHD.
